Home Front Skirt

The Home Front Skirt is a pattern expansion for the Home Front Shirtwaist bodice. The six gores are cut on the same lines as the Daytripper dress skirt, but with a touch less flare at the hem for a ration book friendly slim A-line silhouette.

The skirt can be paired with different bodices, or made as a separate with the addition of a waistband.

A versatile pattern for any season, the Home Front Skirt will work well in a variety of fabrics from lightweight rayons and poplins as a dress, to medium-weight tweeds, twills and velvets as a separate.

The triangular pockets on my Agent Carter inspired VIctory dress were inspired by a 1940s McCall pattern for “Victory Aprons”. I’ve included the pattern piece for the pockets with this skirt to continue the Home Front theme, although please note I actually used the slightly fuller Daytripper skirt pattern for this dress.

The pattern comes in modern sizes 4-20 US / 8-24 UK. Get the pattern and instructions on Patreon.
